First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported the Gastonia/Shelby (NC) Alumni Chapter since its inception on March 5, 1988. It is through your generosity that we can continue to serve our communities through scholarships and various other programs and initiatives. As the current Polemarch of the Gastonia/Shelby (NC) Alumni Chapter, I stand at the rear of outstanding leaders of this organization who have all contributed to its overall success and brought us to the point where we are today. Needless to say, there is still much more for us to do.

It is still the membership and our devoted membership that must take the responsibility for the overall growth of our chapter. To that end, I solicit the support of each and every one of you to commit to participate in the programs outlined throughout this website, as well as find a way to contribute to the financial viability of the Gastonia/Shelby (NC) Alumni Chapter.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to reach our goals. With a donation from you and through interaction with our Strategic Alliance and Corporate Affairs partners, we can enhance our fraternity’s fundamental purpose.

I would be remiss to not acknowledge the vision of our Eleven Chapter Founders, as well as Brother’s Ray A. Booton & William M. Blakeney. Their commitment to the advancement of aspiring young men has been unswerving since the inception of the Gastonia/Shelby (NC) Alumni Chapter in 1988.

It is in that spirit that we begin a new era as the Gastonia/Shelby (NC) Alumni Chapter, with our focus on the further development of the Kappa League and Beautillion Millitaire Leadership & Training Scholarship Program, while still being committed to providing mentoring and tutorial assistance to deserving students and our under served communities.

The Gastonia/Shelby (NC) Alumni Chapter is evolving its expanded focus on Health Awareness, such as the Kappa’s Against Aids and Prostate Awareness Initiatives, as well as developing new programs for our under served communities.

We intend to be more aggressive and direct in our solicitations over the next few years and hope we can count on your continued support.
